The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has determined that indoor pollutants can be more seriously polluted than the outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialized cities. Other research indicates that people spend approximately 90 percent of their time indoors. Those at the highest risk are children, the elderly and the disabled, since they spend most of their time indoors. Poor air quality contributes to asthma, respiratory infections, allergic reactions, headaches, eye and skin irritations, fatigue, dizziness, and nausea.
